Tap Into Your Authentic Power

September 4, 2021 by Debra Kasowski Leave a Comment

“Authentic power is building something inside you that you cannot lose and that no one can take from you.”

GARY ZUKAV

I had the pleasure of spending the day with my son, helping him move into his dorm room, and getting those extra items (snacks and drinks) to make his new space feel like home. Times of transition…I know he will be successful in whatever he chooses. I only ask myself, where has the time gone.

As I sit at my AirBnb, I am reflecting on my day. I was flipping through channels and an episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show from 2000 with Gary Zukav caught my attention. The show was about how you can get your power back. There are events in our lives that can sideswipe us or give us a whisper of warning to pay attention to. Gary Zukav was talking about how people strive for perfection, acquire material things, or accomplishments, in order, to manipulate the perception of others to like them or see them in a certain light. There is nothing wrong with having nice things for your own pleasure or doing things to discover what you are capable of. It is when you pursue these things in hopes that others will see you in a particular way that you fall out of alignment with who you are. The difference lies in “who you are being” not “what you are obtaining or accomplishing”. It is not the bigger house, the fancy car, or any other flashy toys that define who you are.

Stop and ask yourself, “Why do I choose what I am doing (competitions, fancy cars, or retail therapy)? Am I doing this to fill a void (feeling of inadequacy, unloved)? A need to feel worthy? To look like I have it all together? To prove it to others who have wronged you? To look good? Explore your responses they will help you answer the next question.

The ultimate question is, “How do you view yourself in relationship to the world?” The belief you choose to hold will drive your intentions and actions and lead to your results.

There are 4 characteristics that define someone who has authentic power:

  1. Humbleness – A person who is humble sees people around them as friends and knows that everyone in life faces difficulties and challenges. Why would you abandon someone who only longs for the same thing – to be loved, valued, and acceptance.
  2. Forgiveness – to forgive for not other reason that release the burden on yourself; forgiveness is for you more than the other person.
  3. Clarity – to understand that every experience is suited for you
  4. Love – to realize that every person who cries hurts. A connection to the human spirit.

Authentic power is the ability to go within – to experience the emotions and to make choices from within – intentionally moment to moment.

Are you ready to step into your authentic power? No one can take this away from you. Everyone has access to this power!

It starts with one choice.

5 Surefire Strategies to Prepare You for Success

January 4, 2014 by Debra Kasowski Leave a Comment

I remember watching the Oprah Show one day when she had featured a product that she fell in love with. I believe it was a type of soap if I recall. The company was featured another time to share what happened after the show. Phone calls started pouring in and the product sold like crazy. The owners stated it was welcomed, however, it was challenging to keep up. Nice problem to have.

The lesson here is…

Are you READY for your success to arrive?

What do you need to do to get ready for the success that you wish to achieve?

  1. Get Super Clear. Your success starts with knowing exactly what you wish to achieve. Otherwise, you will not recognize your desired results.
  2. Develop Your Plan. Write out your plan, systems and processes. This is your “Operations” manual – the strategy of achievers. Do you need to outsource to a virtual assistant? Can you accept a credit card? Do you have a return policy? You may need to build your team so that you have the infrastructure in place to be ready for the influx of sales!!!

  3. Increase Your Knowledge Base. Do you need further training, courses, or education to increase your competency or establish your credibility.
  4. Build Your Network. Business growth begins in your backyard but you need to start thinking on a global scale. Do you have a website? Guess what you are global? Use social media to build relationships – you never know what opportunities will come your way.
  5. Read great books. I can tell if someone is on the road to success by looking at the type of books and magazines they read. Some people have not picked up a book in a very long time. Try reading a biography of someone like Mary Kay Ash, Steve Jobs, or Henry Ford not only will they inspire you with their stories but success leaves clues! Look for them. Better yet, download audiobooks or play CDs in your vehicle during your commute times or transition times (like when you are sitting in a doctor’s office or waiting during your child’s music lesson.) Not only are you utilizing your time more effectively, you are growing and learning. Make sure you take at least one lesson from each book that you will apply to your life or business.

You need to be PREPARED to reap the rewards! What if Oprah called tomorrow? Would you be ready?

How to Attract More Clients and Attract More Cash

November 19, 2013 by Debra Kasowski Leave a Comment

In economic downturns, there are individuals who think that attracting clients is just not possible. They think people are nickel and diming it to make ends meet and stuffing every dollar they make into their mattresses. The reality is some people may be, but the majority are still buying what they feel they need and what they want. Take a stroll through the malls, people are still walking out with bags of purchases.

The biggest point I want you to think about is when attracting clients, you do not just want anyone. You need to be clear about why you do what you are doing (what’s your mission),  who is it is you are serving, and what is the benefit to the client. Clarity is key in delivering your message and helping people get what they want. People need to know what you are offering. You will need to build rapport and a sense of trust either in person, attending networking events, volunteering in the community, through video or audio, articles, and social media. Your job is to demonstrate value and the benefits of what you have to offer. It all comes down to “What’s in it for me?”. This is why being a good listener is so important. You need to ask key qualifiers to gain a better understanding of the needs of your client.

Questions to ask:

  • How can I help you today?
  • What are you looking for?
  • Why do you feel you need it?
  • Why now?
  • When do you need it by?
  • What experience are you trying to create?
  • What benefit is it to you – the potential customer?
  • How will it make you (the customer) feel to have what you offer?
  • Is what you offering freeing up time, make money, or increase their resources?
  • What will be the return on investment?

When you ask the key questions, not only do you better understand what your potential client is looking for or their pain points or challenges. You can now respond to how you can help and serve them in getting what they want.

Other ways you can attract clients:

Ask for referrals from your ideal clients.

Keep in touch with your newsletter or a planned phone call and keeping them in informed (do not sell – inform)as to what you are up to – continue to offer VALUE.

Be a great role model by inspiring people to take action through example. People are naturally attracted to action takers and people would exude liveliness.

Offer teleseminars or tele-classes to support the people you serve – nurture ongoing relationships.

The more ideal clients you attract, the more cash you will take to the bank!
